Mitey Mites Finish the PCC

El Segundo Mitey Mites solidified their place as champions in a grueling Triple Overtime win that was full of drama and surprise. Losing their QB Jackson Stone in the third play forced them to call on QB Jake Palmer to lead the charge. It was a team effort though as the Lakewood Eagles were huge and would not go down without a fierce fight. Both teams showed tremendous heart and should be very proud of themselves. The game was played Saturday at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.

All the Gundo Eagles were needed to finish a Triple Overtime Win. The Stars of the Game were as follows:

Scenes From Tri City Playoff Game

Eagles are on the “Warpath.”

On Saturday, The Eagles Midget team pulled off one of the greatest come from behind victory that I have been associated with ESYFC. With the halftime score being 6-13. They had to overcome a play in which Bubba Ulukivaiola broke up the initial pass attempt. But the ball bounced off the helmet of a Tri City receiver into the hands of another player from Tri City who had no idea why he was even in the end zone. The defense rallied behind the leadership of Jesse Harvey and crew to pitch a shutout the second half. On our final possession of the game we managed to move the ball from our own twenty yard line. Eight or nine plays later Jesse completed the drive with a one yard dive into the end zone to make it 12-13 with thirty one seconds on the clock. Hayden Washington with every man, woman, and child on their feet completed the come back victory with the extra point kick that would have been good from forty yards out. El Segundo Midgets 14, Tri City Falcons 13!!!!!! Congratulations to all twenty five players, who now knows “Its not the size of dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog….  Next week we take on the Torrance Panthers at Torrance H.S. @ 10:00am.  See you there.
