EAGLES ON THE WAR PATH. WEEK 7 RESULTS!!!

October 27, 2009

On week seven, the Eagles travelled to Downey highschool to take on the Downey Razorbacks. It was a long hot and grueling day for our fans. The players adapted very well. At the end of the day El Segundo went 5-1 versus Downey and we left our mark on their field. For six weeks straight we have bringing the heat with us where ever we go!.

Flags once again got our morning started off right with stellar defense attack and with great execution on offense it was an easy day for Flag. Good luck next week boys. The Mighty Mites played even better defense in the second game of the day. It was an excellent effort on the defense side while their offensive weapons showed why they will be a team to wreckon with when the playoffs start in a couple of weeks. Excellent game plan Mighty Mites and keep the three game winning streak going. The Jr Pee Wee pretty much don’t do anything but “Just Win Baby!” But this win separated all the other wins because this game tested their character. Gentlemen you passed. You played a team who gave it their all but their all just wasn’t good enough. They keep their 18 game win streak intact dating back to last year. Lets hope that they can continue to play at this amazing level of football. Next on the list came our “Cardiac” Pee Wees. The Pee Wees came out and matched the defense intensity just as our earlier games to pitch another shut out of the day. Thats 3 shut outs in the morning games. Congrats to the Pee Wees with their stingy defense. We are told that offense win games but defense wins championship. In the evening game we almost managed a sweep but the Jr Midgets lost to a very good team that is 7-0 so far this season. Days like this we just have to play a perfect game with less mistakes as possibble. But we now know what it takes to defeat the Razorbacks in the championship. Knowing Coach Mike and his staff, we will be there at the end of the year. Lets get back on track next week Jr Midgets. Fianlly, our last game of the evening turned out to be the Thrilla in Manilla. The Midgets pushed Downey. Downey shoved the Eagles back. Then we tighten up our chin straps and went to work on the Razorbacks. At the end of the night with all parent friends and family on their feet our Midgets sucked it up for one last defensive stance and gutted out a victory!!! Congrats to Coach Chris on making men out of our sons. Good luck next week and to the playoffs.

Next week, we will end our regular season schedule. We are home against the Lynwood Jr Knights. It is very important that we build momentum going into the playoffs so please get your family, and friends out to our last home game to help cheer us on. Parents make sure that if you have not completed your snack bar duties that you get with your teams General Manager and do so. You will lose your snack bar deposit $$.. Also, City Commissioners make sure that you get with Ann Kurke for assignments. We will be hosting on Halloween Day. Quite a few bizarre things will be going on around us as we SWEEEEEEP the Jr. Knights… Go Eagles!!!!!!!!

WEEK SIX RESULTS

October 21, 2009

In week six, we found our Eagles at Gardena playing against the Mohicans. This year history shows that if the Flags win the 1st game then its going to be long day for our opponents. Well Coach Dov’s Flags started off with a decisive victory. Showing excellent offensive execution this week. Congrats Flag Team. The Mighty Mites put up a lot of points in the 1st half.  To make it a blow out victory for their two games winning streak. Congrats Coach Razza. The Big Blue Eagles Machine Jr Pee Wees continued their win streak to 16 games in a row. The Mohicans proved not to be a worthy team as we dominated both sides of the ball. Excellent job Coach Tim on keeping your team to continue to play at a high level week after week… The Pee Wees team had another set back. But we continued to show up and fight hard. Harold I hope that next week our winning ways will be back on point. Good luck Pee Wees keep showing that Eagles pride!! The Jr Midgets did not play down to their opponents level this week again. They displayed excellent defense and our offense continued to dominate on the otherside of the ball. This is our 4th victory in a row. Congrats to Coach Mike and his staff. The night ended with a tough lost for our Midgets team. We played hard but it just didn’t show up on the score board. Midgets we have got to step it up the next two weeks and get ready for the playoffs. We know you can do it.  At the end of a long day we ended up going 4-2. Another winning weekend for the Eagles family on the road. Next week we are on the road against a very tough program in Downey. We need every man, woman and child to show up and cheer us on!! Thanks to all coaches, genaral managers, volunteers, parents and the board for all you do to make El Segundo Youth Football and Cheer the classiest city of the Pacific Coast Conference.  (A.D.)

WEEK FIVE RESULTS

October 21, 2009

Two weeks ago our Eagles hit the road to play the Lawdale Cardinals. The Flags started the day off with a loss. But they had a great showing against a very well tuned Cardinals team. We will get it right next week for sure Coach Dov. The Mighty Mites however scored on their opponents early and often for a lopsided  victory. Congrats to Razza on getting the ship stirred right. Jr Pee Wees continued their workmen like play as they complete their 15th victory in row dating back to last years Mighty Mites championship run. Coach Tim congrats, and keep on keeping on.. The Cardiacs Pee Wees had a tough lost this week to a very good Cardinal team. The most memorable thing about the game is how the boys were able to block out a 911 injury. They made a big stop. Then they turned a negative incident into a positive one by coming together on a 70 yard drive to score a touchdown. We were very impressed in the stands.. Good luck next week Harold. Due to a time change and Lawndale not having a Midget team we rearranged the Midgets time to 3:00pm against Buena Park. Our Midgets played dominant football on both sides of the ball. It showed on the scoreboard with a decisive victory. I am sure that Buena Park now know that “We are and will always be the real EAGLES of the PCC!!” Nice job Coach Chris. Finally our Jr Midgets got a chance to display their game under “Saturday Night Lights.” Once again their ground game opened up their passing attack. Before you know it the route was on. Congrats Coach Mike on you guys 3rd victory in a row. On the day we ended  up 4-2.. We have not had a losing week in a long time. We can credit great coaching, players, general manager, and parents. Lets keep this streak of wins going Eagles Family… Next week games are on the road at Gardena High School..

WEEK FOUR RESULTS

October 5, 2009

The Eagles hosted Lakewood #1 this weekend at Serra Highschool in Gardena. It was a great time and a long day. We managed to end the day going 3-3 for our city. The Flag once again set the tone for the day with a victory. Their third in a row. The Mighty Mites was on a game winning drive but lost the football in the last second to drop a well played defensively game. The Jr Pee Wees continue their winning ways. They dominated last year co champions for four quarters of football. Jr. Pee Wees keep on keeping on!!!! The “Cardiac Pee Wees” lost to what I believe the best game of the day. After being down at halftime, the Pee Wees shut down Lakewood and scored the last twelve points of the game. The score was 13-12 Lakewood when we decided to kick the extra point. If we make it, its two points for us. The extra point hit the goal post and ricochet back out. Thats going to be the game to talk about for many days… In the evening games, the Jr Midgets put their stamp of dominance back on the field as they finally got healthy and they stomped all over Lakewood. And speaking of healthy, the Midgets lost a tough one as they endured thru the week with players ill, injured and being short handed for a week. Thanks to all parent volunteers, the Board, our City Commissioners, Coaches for a great weekend at Serra.

Next week schedule are road games for us. We play at Serra Highschool against the Lawndale Cardinals. The Midgets play Buena Park at Serra as well.  Flags start @ 8am Mighty Mites @ 9am Jr Pee Wees @ 11am Pee Wees @ 1pm Jr Midgets @ 3pm and Midgets @ 5pm against Buena Park.
