I have in emails to my team’s parents mentioned football as compared to War. Funny enough I came across this article recently mentioning that one of the games original Coaches, Clark Shaughnessy (Stanford in 1940), had studied military tactics and employed them on the football field when he modernized the T formation.
The metaphor that we use in practice is that the game is pretty simple. Each team get’s 4 tries to take 10 yards from the other teams land/property. As they are attempting to do the same to us.
This is the category for the cheerleaders. Although we do not have a cheer team, we were lucky enough to get a banner to run thru after the game. Thank you to the older Cheer teams for providing this.
The Mitey Mights gave a valiant effort after a slow start. Holding Culver City to no points in the second half. Of course, we were held to no points in the first and second half. We need to work on that this coming week. I am sure the boys will answer the call.
